The official Walt Disney Studios YouTube channel posted a new trailer for the upcoming live-action Aladdin film. The new trailer gives us a better look at the film's cast, especially with Princess Jasmine played by Naomi Scott (Power Rangers) and Genie as played by Will Smith (Suicide Squad).
The upcoming film also stars newcomer Mena Massoud (Jack Ryan) as Aladdin and Marwan Kenzari (Murder on the Orient Express) as Jafar.
Also part of the film's cast are: Navid Negahban (Legion) as the Sultan, Nasim Pedrad (Scream Queens) as Dalia, Jasmine's free-spirited best friend and confidante; Billy Magnussen (Into the Woods) as Prince Anders, Jasmine's handsome and arrogant suitor; and Numan Acar (Spider-Man: Far From Home) as Hakim, Jafar's right-hand man and the captain of the palace guards.
Based on Disney's animated classic of the same and one of the tales of the One Thousand and One Nights, the upcoming film is directed by Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes) and written by John August (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and Ritchie, the film follows a charming street rat named Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future.
Aladdin is set for a May 24th release.
