Variety reported that Chinese actress Jing Tian (Police Story: Lockdown, Kong: Skull Island) joins the Pacific Rim 2 film cast in an unnamed role.
The film will also star John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as the son of Stacker Pentecost and Cailee Spaeny (Counting to 1000) as its female lead. Also confirmed to be part of the film is Scott Eastwood (Suicide Squad) for an unnamed role.
A sequel to 2013's sci-fi robot film, Pacific Rim 2 is directed by Steven S. DeKnight (Marvel's Daredevil) and it is set for a February 23, 2018 release. Production for the film will begin in November in Australia with some portions of the film being shot in china.
