What's not surprising is Alain not doing a full face turn in this episode. I liked that he didn't turn to the good side immediately as it makes his eventual turn to the side of the angels more meaningful. What I hate about it is that they weren't subtle about it. I mean, every time Alain smiles, we here this evil sound effect that pretty much screams, "HE'S STILL EVIL! DON'T TRUST HIM!" I get that this is a show aimed for younger audiences, but for crying out loud, they can easily figure this out on their own without it. His subtle smile and the way he acts around with the rest of the team can paint a picture that he's not yet a good guy.
Now for the Demia Project, the episode barely showed us the connection between the new tech created by Deep Connect and the reddening of the skies. The only thing that this episode made clear of is that part of the plan involves turning our world's atmosphere similar to that of the Ganma World. As for the technology part, it involves creating a perfect utopia as everything gets connected with it. Based on how I understand it, they'll likely use the tech to control humanity so that they won't oppose the utopia created in this new world.
Finally, some more important stuff in the episode, Javert once again jobs in this episode. For a guy who is supposed to be a "threat" to our heroes, he's doing a really bad job. Also, this episode easily features one of the best uses of Grateful Damashii's ability to summon the heroes in battle. In this episode, he summoned said heroes so that he can jump high enough and reach him. It's a really neat scene, which eventually lead into one cool Rider Kick. The episode ends and the Demia Project is almost done with its first phase. Can our heroes save Kanon before it is too late?
