It was announced that Rio Uchida (Kamen Rider Drive) will star in the live-action drama TV drama adaptation of Nagisa Matsumoto's Shogi Meshi manga.
In the series, Uchida plays the role of Nayuta Touge, a professional shogi player who shapes her strategies based on the meals she and her opponents eat between matches. By choosing the meals careful, she believes she can become unbeatable.
The upcoming series is directed by Goro Yasumi (FACE-MAKER) with scripts by Yoriko Kodama (Daddy Detective). The series is set to premiere on Fuji On Demand on July 31st, and will have its Japanese terrestrial TV broadcast starting on August 2nd. The series will have a total of 8 episodes.
