It was announced that Mao Ichimichi, best known to most fans as Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger's Luka Millfy/Gokai Yellow will voice a new character in Kamen Rider Zero-One.
She will play the role of Ai, an AI created by Aruto Hiden's company, Hiden Manufacturing. Her job is to listen to humans and given them advice. Unlike other Humagear units, Ai is not made to look human. Ai will debut in the show's 36th episode, which will air this Sunday, the same episode Kamen Rider Ark-Zero will attack our heroes.
This is the actress' first Kamen Rider role as most of her tokusatsu roles after Gokaiger are in the Super Sentai Series, most notably, as Uchu Sentai Kyuranger's Raptor 283/Washi Pink and Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger's Kishiryu Chibigaroo. Ichimichi is happy to appear in Kamen Rider and she finds playing the voice of an AI difficult, but she is looking forward to it.
As to the "attractive points" of the character, she commented, "Since it is a Friend type AI, I paid attention to have a frank demeanor while also keeping a leveled, not too close distance with the other person. I played it picturing a friend that would listen objectively to what you had to say and then provide sharp, on-point advice."
