Dragon Ball series creator Akira Toriyama will write the film's script and is in-charge with the character designs with Tatsuya Nagamine (One Piece Film Z) directing film, Naohiro Shintani (One Piece) serving as animation director, and Kazuo Ogura (The Garden of Sinners) serving as art director. This is the third Dragon Ball film Toriyama wrote as he previously wrote Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F'.
In addition, Toriyama commented about the upcoming film, confirming that it takes place after the events of the currently on-going Tournament of Power arc. The film will reveal previously unwritten details about the Saiyans and Frieza, as well as strong opponent our heroes have to overcome. Toriyama thinks that it will be an enjoyable story. He even commented that even though he is not serializing anything, he is as busy as ever thanks to the anime, which used to be out of his hands and asked his fans to look forward to it.
Dragon Ball Super the Movie is set for a December 14th release in Japan.
