What I like about Tusk in this episode is that we saw an aspect of him that they just implied, that he is the smart one. Though we later learn that he is bad with Charades, but this episode emphasized his love for reading. He loves reading books and he wants to share the love with everyone. To make it more interesting, he ended up working in a used books store whose owner hates well, pretty much everyone. This creates this interesting dynamic between the two and is essentially, the driving force for this entire episode.
The story ends, and it pretty much convinces the kids to read more, much to the disdain of the shop owner... for some reason. To be honest, the shop owner's motivation on why he hates customers is not that clear. All I can get is that he loves his books so much that he wants them to go to the right people, not just random people who'll likely end up discarding them. Take note, he sells used books, books that people likely read for a few days and ignored and decided to sell it. Even if that's the case, we see his passion for books especially after the Player makes his move.
The plan feels like it came straight from a Super Sentai show from the 80's, but unlike most 80's Super Sentai wherein we learn the plan at the start of the episode, this plan was revealed around the time the episode was at least halfway done. This is an interesting twist to the already established formula made back in the 80's, and given that this is an anniversary season, I wish to see more villain plans that screams like it came from various Super Sentai eras. Back to the episode, I love how they show how language disappeared. We see a bunch of words fly out and the reaction coming from everyone makes the effect really look good.
Just seeing words fly out from the Player's weak point was easily one of the best shots in the series. As for the giant battle, it was there so that we can have a Zyuoh King vs. Zyuoh Wild fight. To be honest, that fight was kinda lackluster since we barely got a chance to see Zyuoh King slash Zyuoh Wild, only shoot him with the Kirin Bazooka. The episode ends and the Player is defeated, the shop keeper knows that Tusk is Zyuoh Elephant and will keep it as a secret, and the shop owner is now more welcoming to kids who want to read. The final shot of the episode is one great way to end an otherwise decent filler episode.
