While the rest of his team is busy fighting the Bird-Man, we see Yamato at his most desperate hour fighting a giant robot all by himself. No Cube Eagle or Cube Gorilla to back him up, just him, as Zyuoh Eagle fighting a giant robot. This is the exact moment that made me like Yamato as a Red Ranger. I mean, I already liked the guy as a character, and this scene just made me like the guy more. He's selfless and is willing to risk his own life so that his friends can get the opportunity to go home. What made it more significant is that we have two episodes focusing on that aspect that is they miss Zyuland, especially with Sela and this episode is the culmination of that B-plot.
This tidbit gives the audience something to ponder about. Why does he consider Zyuland a "rotten place"? This and the fact that the zyumans want to go home, what happens next is a fight between the Bird-Man and the zyuman Zyuohgers. I love the fact that the fight started with them in their zyuman forms before they deciding to transform into Zyuohgers. Their fight as zyumans gives us an idea that the Bird-Man is strong enough to go toe-to-toe against four zyumans. Them transforming into Zyuohgers also gave us an idea on the limits of the Bird-Man's power.
To be honest, I'll do both, but to be fair on the other Zyuohgers' part, they have no idea if Yamato is still alive since he is fighting a killer machine that destroyed planets all by himself. In short, their next move is something that didn't surprise me. They decided to leave the Champion's Symbol and go save Yamato. It's a really touching scene and it establishes the friendship formed by the five heroes. That they are willing to sacrifice for each other and that is the exact moment I finally fell in love with the team. For the past few episodes, I just liked these kids, but now, man, I can't help but to root for these kids.
As for its moves, as of the moment, all we see are just punches, and boy, the ones shooting this mecha fight knows how to give each punch the impact it needs. Each punch feels strong, and each movement of the Wild Zyuoh King feels heavy and strong. As for the finisher itself, it's the classic Breast Fire finisher with more cubes and animals in it, and I like it. Before ending this talk about the mecha, is it me or Gift kinda looks like one of the enemy Megazords in Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters?
The episode ends and it seems that the Bird-Man is now interested with the Champion's Symbol's true power. As for Yamato and the rest, since the zyumans will be staying for a while, Yamato will still continue his job as the designated adult to these rag tag group of zyumans stuck in our world because they wanted to.
