It was previously reported back in February 2019 that the series is approaching its climax, and that the series will end in "a few chapters." The series began its serialization in Monthly Asuka in 1997, which then went on hiatus in 2005, and made its return in 2008, but the series' author, Yukiru Sugisaki didn't finish the story.
The series resumed in May 2018, with a complete "New Edition" of its compiled volumes being released. The volumes of this updated version has all the manga content from the 15 volumes of the manga with newer chapters until its ending. Each volume will have around 330 pages, features brand new covers, and is A5 in page size. The series was adapted into an anime in 2003 by Xebec.
