Bandai Japan posted their video review of the Super Complete Selection Animation D-Scanner from the Digimon Frontier anime series.
Also known as D-Tector in the English dub, this item represents the Digivice seen in the Digimon Frontier anime series, and is based on the upgraded D-Scanners Takuya and Kouji got later in the series. The item is available in two versions, namely: Ultimate Red and Ultimate Blue.
This item is redesigned based on the one seen in the series, and is about the same size the D-Scanner Version 3 that was sold around the time the anime first aired. The D-Scanner features a high resolution, full color LCD display screen, making it possible to display various animations to fill in the screen. The item is also 115mm tall and 74mm wide. - Digicode Scan - The D-Scanner vibrates while sucking Digicode. It ends with a Digimon appearing.
- Spirit Search - It shows the searching for Spirits. Location is at random.
- Digimon Commentary - Feature reproduces the Digimon explation scenes from the anime, all of which are narrated by the narrator.
Just like in the series, you can perform a Spirit Evolution by using the D-Scanner to scan your fingers with the item detecting said gaps. The Digimon for evolution will be displayed onscreen. Other Digivolutions are possible as well, namely: Double Spirit Evolution, Hyper Spirit Evolution, and Slide Evolution. Except for Slide Evolution, you can activate the impressed Bokomon and Neemon voices by performing a specific action.
But that's not all, at the touch of a button, Susanoomon's Ancient Spirit Evolution can also be activated! But wait, there's more as once the red and blue D-Scanners communicate, you can even replicate the scene from the final episode of the series, unlocking unique dialogue between Takuya and Kouji!
Each SCSA D-Scanner has their own set of unique voices that have been newly recorded by the original cast. Common in all versions are: Tomoki, Izumi, Junpei, Kouichi, Bokomon, Neemon, the narrator, and Ophanimon. Each version includes unique voices, and they are:
Finally, the item also plays various songs from the series, namely: "Fire (TV Size)", "With the Will (BGM version)", "Innocent -Remaining Innocent-", "Ten Legendary Warriors", "With the Will (TV Size)", "The Last Element", and "An Endless Tale (TV Size)".
