It was revealed at the special broadcast of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train that the series' upcoming Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Swordsmith Village Arc anime will premiere this April 2023.
The series will premiere with a one-hour special. In addition, a new trailer for the series was revealed, which also announced a World Tour for the series that will air in theaters. Titled "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - To the Swordsmith Village", this special theatrical screening will play in over 80 countries and territories starting on February 3, 2023.
The screenings will include episodes 10 and 11 of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Entertainment District Arc, and the first episode of the Swordsmith Village Arc.
The primary staff of the series, namely: series director Haruo Sotozaki, character designer Akira Matsushima, and anime studio ufotable will return to work on the series. Lastly, the cast from the previous two seasons will return to reprise their roles, and that includes Kengo Kawanishi as Muichiro Tokito and Kana Hanazawa as Mitsuri Kanroji.
As the name of the season suggest, it will adapt the manga's Swordsmith Village Arc, which covers chapters 98-127 of the manga. In the arc, Tanjiro travels to the Swordsmith Village to replace his sword because Hotaru Haganezuka is tired of repairing it.
