TOHO Animation announced the a new anime project titled Cyborg 009 Call of Justice, a 3-part CGI film commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Cyborg 009 manga.
The film, which will feature the tagline "When a crisis threatens the world, they're always there" will feature Joe Shimamura aka 009 and the other cyborgs fight Bresudo, a group of people with unknown goals who possess superhuman powers and intellect, and have manipulated human history since ancient times.
Lucy Davenport, a journalist who believes that this group exist heads to Texas to contact a certain family, and meets the cyborgs. Since the establishment of the UN Guardian troops, the cyborgs are now living their lives in peace. But because of Lucy's visit and Bresudo's return, 009 and his friends will once again fight.
The staff from the 009 Re:Cyborg film, Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) and Koudai Kakimoto (Arpeggio of Blue Steel) will work in the project as chief director and film director respectively. Lastly, the film will feature character designs by Masatsugu Saito (Captain Earth).
Produced by Ishinomori Production and Production I.G, Cyborg 009 Call of Justice and its three parts are set to premiere on November 25 (Part I), December 2 (Part II), and December 9 (Part III) respectively. Each part will receive a limited two-week run.
