It was revealed in Bandai Namco Arts' V-Storage news website that Code Geass director Goro Taniguchi and writer Ichiro Okouchi will work on what is "next" in the Code Geass franchise.
Taniguchi and Okouchi revealed it while talking about the third and final Code Geass compilation film, in which Okouchi explained, "At the time of the television series, I intended to close the book on Lelouch's story after the final episode. However, this film, Glorification [the recap trilogy's third film], is a little different. It wasn't intended to be an end but a beginning."
Taniguchi also added that the differences in story in the film trilogy are not a negation of the TV series, but rather one possible outcome. The next Code Geass project, subtitled "Re;surrection" was announced back in November 2016 alongside with the compilation films. Said films will recap all 50 episodes of the original Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 anime series. The compilation films will include new scenes and new voice acting from the show's cast.
