The official Chainsaw Man THE STAGE website has unveiled the teaser trailer and the cast for the stage play adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto's Chainsaw Man manga.
The stage play stars Naotake Tsuchiya (Musical The Prince of Tennis) as Denji, Mizuki Umetsu (Touken Ranbu 2) as Aki Hayakawa, Mahiru Coda (Welcome to Planet Sutherland) as Power, and Aya Hirano (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) as Makima. Other cast members include:
- Minami Tsukui (Kamen Rider Gaim) as Himeno
- Haruki Iwata (Shoujo☆Kageki Revue Starlight) as Kobeni Higashiyama
- Ko Kanegae (Hyper Projection Engeki Haikyu!!) as Hirokazu Arai
- Masashi Taniguchi (Kamen Rider Amazons, GoGoFive) as Kishibe
- Masahide Tada & Yutaka Nakasone as Chainsaw Man
- Orenograffiti as Samurai Sword (human form)
- Shoma Yoshioka as Samurai Sword (devil form)
Chainsaw Man follows Denji, a poor young man who'll do anything for money, even hunt down devils with his pet devil-dog Pochita. A simple man with simple dreams and drowning in debt, his life gets turned upside down one day when he's betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a devil inside him, Denji has become a whole new man, a Chainsaw Man!
The stage play is written and directed by Fumiya Matsuzaki (Engeki xxxHolic - Zoku), and will feature music composed by Shunsuke Wada (Live Spectacle Naruto), and HIDALI (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba stage play) is in-charge of choreography. The play will run from September 16 to October 1 at The Galaxy Theatre in Tokyo, and on October 6-9 at the Kyoto Theater in Kyoto.
