Speaking of Ganma executives, the jobber, I mean Javert arrives in the Tenkuuji Temple and instead of Onari kicking him in the balls, he showed the man kindness in the time he was at his weakest. Of all the side stuff that's happening in this episode, this is the best one. Not only it establishes that Onari's kindness knows no labels; it also showed us that he can show mercy to those who need it the most. Oh, and aside from that touching moment, pretty much he and Akari are useless in this entire episode.
More on the search for Makoto, it was sloppily done. No seriously, there's barely any searching involved and it all ended with Makoto leaving his chamber and walked around until he reached Eadith's workshop. It didn't feel like Takeru exerted any effort in searching for his friend. As for Alain, he had other motives that's why his actions for this episode felt justified. He wants to know what happened to his father and that's what he get before the episode ended. The best part about it was the build up towards the reunion.
Now to Alain's portion of the episode, not only the episode showed us his concern towards his father, he finally learned the dark truth Takeru discovered the first time he entered the Ganma World. Alain finally learned that their people die in the chambers that they were kept in. His confusion on the situation, especially when he confronts his father about it is what makes the reunion so good. His father has all the answers on why they are doing it, but the situation and the moment they are in right now does not permit him to tell it. What's more is that he was killed before he even have the chance to say it! It's the most cliché form of death, and the way they executed it, especially its aftermath made it even better.
To ramp up the sadness of this ending is the fact that Adel was the one who delivered the final blow to his father. It's like he only sees his father as a tool to further the utopia that he wished to get. It didn't help that he finally unveil the Ganmaizer to Takeru and Alain, but before we got a clear resolution to that one, the episode ends, and Makoto's new Eyecon starts to glow.
More on this scene, we got a lot of teasing of its power, and then again, all of them were teases and some stuff Eadith implied. The power of the Deep Specter Eyecon was not firmly established in this episode. Only thing that was confirmed is that its power fascinated Makoto. Heck, the scene made me wonder on what's the deal with Eadith in this series. He's a wild card as wild as the Hermit. We all know that they look alike and if you think about it, they never appear together at the same time. Which makes me wonder, is he the final boss of the series?
