The official Dragon Quest: Your Story CGI anime film website posted the official trailer for the upcoming film as well unveiled the film's cast.
The film's story is based on Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride, which was originally released in the SNES back in 1992. The film will star Takeru Satoh (Kamen Rider Den-O, Rurouni Kenshin) as Ryuka, the film's hero; Kasumi Arimura (Amachan, March Comes in Like a Lion) as Bianca, and Haru (Maria-sama ga Miteru) as Flora/Nera.
Also part of the film's cast are: Kentaro Sakaguchi (Color Me True) as Prince Henry/Harry, Takayuki Yamada (Hero Yoshihiko) as Papas/Pankraz, Ryuka's father; Kendo Kobayashi (Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider Ghost & Drive: Super Movie War Genesis), Ken Yasuda (Aoi Honoo), Arata Furuta (Shin Godzilla, Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger: Shushutto the Movie), Suzuki Matsuo (Shin Godzilla), Koichi Yamadera (Dragon Ball Super), Arata Iura (Kimi ni Todoke), Chikako Kaku (Good Wife), and Kotaro Yoshida (Teiichi no Kuni).
Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii is credited for the original story and supervision. Takashi Yamazaki (Stand By Me Doraemon) will serve as the film's chief director and scriptwriter. Yamazaki's other Stand By Doraemon collaborators, namely Ryuichi Yagi and Makoto Hanafusa will also serve as this film's directors. Lastly, Dragon Quest game franchise composer Koichi Sugiyama will work on the film's music.
Dragon Quest: Your Story is set for an August 2nd release in Japan.
