It was reported that actor Seizo Fukumoto has passed away last January 1st due to lung cancer. He was 77 years old.
Fukumoto is best known for his roles in various Jidaigeki dramas who always gets slashed. Thus he gained a nickname as the "man who has been slashed 50,000 times". He finally get the chance to become the lead actor in the film, Uzumasu Limelight. To overseas fans, he is best known for his role in The Last Samurai as the Silent Samurai.
For tokusatsu fans, he is best known for his role as General Black in OOO, Den-O, All Riders: Let's Go Kamen Riders, and has appeared in samurai roles in Cho Ninja Tai Inazuma! and in Engine Sentai Go-Onger: Boom Boom! Bang Bang! GekijoBang!!
