It was announced by talent agency YK Agent that actor Hiroyuki Watanabe has passed away last May 3rd. He was 66 years old.
The cause of death was due to suicide by hanging. His family found him at their home's private gym, which is located at their basement around 12 noon. A private funeral will be held with family members.
Watanabe is best known to most fans as Commander Akio Ishimuro in Ultraman Gaia, Taiga Saejima in the Garo series, Gaoh/Kamen Rider Gaoh in Kamen Rider Den-O: I'm Born!, Commander Yutaka Hirose in Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, and Colonel Ono in the Heisei Gamera Trilogy.
