It was announced at this year's August issue of Champion RED magazine that Kazumasa Hirai and Jiro Kuwata's 8 Man series will have a crossover with Shotaro Ishinomori's Cyborg 009 series.
The crossover manga series simply titled 8 Man vs. Cyborg 009 will be written by Kyoichi Nanatsuki (Project ARMS) with art by Masato Hayase (Genma Taisen Rebirth). The series will launch in the magazine's next issue, which will be available starting on July 18. The crossover will feature classic versions of 8 Man and the Cyborg 009.
In addition, the issue will also include a special 8 Man booklet that will include the "phantom ending", which wasn't published in the Akita Sunday Comics version of the manga, as well as Kazumasa Hirai's anime scenario from the "Duel" one-shot.
