Actor Shunji Igarashi, who is best known for his role as Ultraman Mebius and ROOKIES recently revealed in an interview that he recently got married as well as what he is doing after his retirement.
This was revealed in the NO MAKE interview program, a show that looks into the unknown pasts of people in the public eye and the present in which they have come to terms with them. Igarashi, who retired from showbiz at age 27, is now 38, is currently living in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture, was closely followed by the show's team.
We learn that he and his brother launched two employment support businesses, namely Ultra Marlin in June 2024 and Mebius Marlin in October 2024. Mebius Marlin is an employment transition business that supports people with mental illness and physical disabilities in acquiring programming skills and communication abilities in preparation for general employment.
He also revealed that he no longer has the desire to return to showbiz as he is more focused on welfare work. But if it is something that he's interested in or feel like he have to appear in, then maybe he will appear, but he can't promise anything and doesn't feel like doing it as he doesn't want to do welfare work half-heartedly. He wants to do his job responsibly and continue with the determination to get the people he's helping employed. He doesn't want to be irresponsible by taking some time off to work for a drama. Right now, he wants to learn more about welfare, advertise it more, and make a good facility. He previously said back in 2021 that he wanted to return to showbiz.

During said interview, a staff member noticed the ring on Igarashi's left ring finger and asked him about his marriage, which he confirmed. He revealed that his wife loves Disney and proposed to her in front of the Cinderella Castle.
Igarashi's changing body shape was also brought up and was asked if his wife doesn't mind it, he gushingly replied how much his wife loves Disney and that Baymax from Big Hero 6 and Sully from Monsters, Inc. are her favorites, making him laugh that he is her type. Lastly, when asked if he was happier as an actor or now, he replied that he is happy now. He built a happy family with his wife and two dogs. He also found happiness in home cooking and not to get our hopes up of him dieting anymore.
