CBR has unveiled that the Takuya Yamashiro Spider-Man, who first made his debut in Toei's live-action Spider-Man series will get a new costume for the Spider-Man vs. Venomverse limited comic book series.
This new suit was designed by the comic book's artist, Luciano Vecchio (Storm, Ironheart), who stated that it helps setting him visually apart from Peter in this event that can be described as the "ultimate arachnid war".
Vecchio revealed that he rewatched episodes of said Japanese Spider-Man series to "tap into that universe's sensitivity and dramatic body language, and also referred to other early 80s shows in the Tokusatsu genre for aesthetic cues like the scarf and black lenses." He bounced ideas with the comic's co-writer, Mat Groom before they ended up with this look that he summed up as "Spider-Man meets Super Sentai."
