For the first time since Himitsu Sentai Gorenger made their debut, the five Gorengers assemble for the first time in 50 years!
This happened at the Himitsu Sentai Gorenger 50th Anniversary Secret Premium Event, which happened last April 5th, exactly 50 years since Himitsu Sentai Gorenger made its debut. The event was held without revealing any details until the day of the event, which was attended by 350 Super Sentai fans who were selected via lottery from over 2,000 applications all across Japan.
The event was hosted by voice actor Tomokazu Seki, a "voice actor who loves Super Sentai", and is no stranger in the franchise as he voiced multiple monsters in the franchise, which includes Ohranger's Prince Buldont, Megaranger's Bibidebi, and the even voice of various Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger equipment. The event featured a special screening of Himitsu Sentai Gorenger the Movie: The Bomb Hurricane.
After said screening, the five Gorengers make a surprise appearance! Naoya Makoto (Tsuyoshi Kaijo/AkaRanger), Hiroshi Miyauchi (Akira Shinmei/AoRanger), Jiro Daruma (Daigoro Kumano/KiRanger II), Lisa Komaki (Peggy Matsuyama/MomoRanger), and Yukio Ito (Kenji Asuka/MidoRanger) all appeared in public for the frist time since the show's broadcast 50 years ago. What was said to be impossible to achieve, has finally become a reality after 50 years! Usually, when a member of the team will appear after the series ended, they are usually represented by one or two members, not the full team.
The event also also announced the All Super Sentai Exhibition event, which will happen on August this year at the Tokyo Dome City Prism Hall and will tour across Japan.
