Warner Bros. Anime has unveiled more details for the upcoming Steel Ball Run: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime at the Anime Expo 2025 event, most notably, the show's main staff.
It is revealed that the main staff members of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime series will return to work on the series. David Production will once again animate the series with Toshiyuki Kato returning as the series director and Golden Wind's Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi serving as directors. Yasuko Kobayashi will once again write the series composition.
Golden Wind's Daisuke Tsumagi will serve as character designer and chief animation director, Yugo Kano will once again compose the show's music, and Yoshikazu Iwanami will once again serve as sound director. Tsumagi also released a special illustration (seen above) for the project as well. Lastly, more details about the series will be unveiled in a special Steel Ball Run global livestream on September 23rd.
Taking place in a brand new universe, Steel Ball Run is set in 1890 in the United Stares as we follow Johnny Joestar, a parplegic former jockey who desires to regain the use of his legs, and his eccentric mentor, Gyro Zeppeli. They compete in a cross-country horse race called "Steel Ball Run" and win the $50 million grand prize, but they find themselves targeted after they discover the hidden agenda of the race's sponsor.
