Netflix announced the next entry of their live-action Parasyte series with Parasyte: TAMIYA.
The new series follows Ryoko Tamiya, a very levelheaded and "human" parasite who begins to question how, or if, parasites and humans can coexist. Seen through Tamiya's eyes, the world of Parasyte becomes a lens on survival, identity and what it really means to be human.
Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool 2, Shinichi Kudo's Written Challenge) plays Ryoko Tamiya, in which she will play the character in three distinct ways: the original human, the supposedly violent parasite, and the parasite who struggles to coexist with humanity.
The team behind Parasyte: The Grey returns to work in the new series, with Yeon Sang-ho (Colony, Hellbound) writing the script in collaboration with Ryu Yong-jae (Money Heist: Korea). WOWPOINT will once again develop and produce the series, with Kensaku Kakimoto (Glass Heart, Parasite in Love) and Kazuhiro Nakagawa (Bullet Train Explosion, Ultraman Z) directing the series.
Parasyte: TAMIYA is set for a 2027 release, streaming exclusively on Netflix.
