It was revealed by the family of Toei Animation director Tatsuya Nagamine has passed away. He was 53.
According to his family, he passed away last August 20th and according to the family, he had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness since last year. The family added, "he was kind, warm, and caring, and was the best father and husband in the world."
Nagamine has directed multiple works for Toei Animation, most notably: Dr. Slump: Dr. Mashirito Abale-chan, Digimon Savers the Movie: Ultimate Power! Burst Mode Invoke!!, One Piece Film Z, and Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Prior to his passing, he was the One Piece anime series director from episode 892 (start of Wano Kumi Arc) through episode 1122 (end of the first part of the Egghead Island Arc).
