The official Lupin the IIIrd anime film website posted a new trailer for the upcoming film, revealing the film's official title to be Lupin the IIIrd the Movie: Immortal Bloodline. The trailer features the film's theme song, "The IIIRD Eye" by B'z.
The film follows Lupin and his team as they seek a treasure on a mysterious unmarked island.
This is the first new 2D feature-length Lupin III film in nearly 30 years since 1996's Lupin III: Dead or Alive. The past 2D Lupin III films namely, Lupin the IIIrd: Jigen's Gravestone, Lupin the IIIrd: Goemon's Blood Spray, and Lupin the IIIrd: Fujiko Mine's Lie all run for less than an hour long.
Telecom Animation Film will once again animate the project with the main staff of the Lupin the IIIrd anime films, namely director Takeshi Koike (Redline) and writer Yuya Takahashi (Kamen Rider Geats) returning to work on said film. Other returning staff members include music composer James Shimoji (Redline), and creative adviser Katsuhito Ishii. Featuring the tagline "You don't yet know the real Lupin III", Lupin the IIIrd the Movie: Immortal Bloodline is set to premiere this June 27th.
