Ishimori Production announced a new Cyborg 009 anime titled Cyborg 009: Nemesis. This new anime was announced 60 years after the manga was first launched in 1964.
Based on Shotaro Ishinomori's Cyborg 009 manga, the original manga follows a global organization known as Black Ghost, which seeks to lock the world into eternal war. The organization has captured nine people and turned them into cyborg soldiers, but these cyborgs rebel and fight against Black Ghost.
The manga was adapted into three different anime series in 1968, 1979, and 2001. Recently, it inspired the 009 Re:Cyborg anime film in 2012 and the the Cyborg 009 Call of Justice anime film series in 2016. The series also had a crossover anime with Devilman called Cyborg 009 vs. Devilman.
