The staff of the Blue Box anime posted a new trailer for the upcoming series at this year's Anime Expo alongside with a new key visual for the series.
The series will star Shoya Chiba (Classroom of the Elite) as Taiki Inomata, Reina Ueda (SSSS.Gridman) as Chinatsu Kano, and Akari Kito (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) as Hina Chono. Also part of the show's cast are: Chiaki Kobayashi (Mashle: Magic and Muscles) as Kyo Kasahara and Yuma Uchida (Jujutsu Kaisen, Ultraman Taiga) as Kengo Haryu.
Based on Koji Miura's manga of the same name, the series follows Taiki Inomata, a member of the boys' badminton team at sports powerhouse Eimei Junior and Senior High. He's in love with basketball player Chinatsu Kano, the older girl he trains alongside every morning in the gym. One Spring day, their relationship takes a sharp turn... And thus begins this brand-new series of love, sports and youth!
The upcoming anime will be produced by Telecom Animation Film (Lupin III), while UNLIMITED PRODUCE by TMS (Undead Unluck) is in-charge of planning and production. The series will be directed by Yuichiro Yano (Lupin III Part 5), and will feature scripts overseen by Yuko Kakihara (Chihayafuru Seasons 2 and 3), and character designs by Miho Tanino (Tower of God). Blue Box is set to premiere this October on TBS in Japan and worldwide on Netflix as a simulcast.
