Ultraseven's infamous 12th episode, "From Another Planet with Love" has recently surfaced online, but in HD for the very first time.
This episode was banned by Tsuburaya since 1970 due how Alien Spell was described in later additional material as "Survivor Alien", and how its appearance look like nuclear blast survivor. Tsuburaya apologized for the implication this kaiju might have made, and has pulled out the airing of said episode in later broadcasts and home video releases.
Since then, the only way to watch this episode is through bootleg recordings from various sources. The most notable version was the one that aired in the United States when Ultraseven was broadcasted in said country during the 90s. Said recording was the most high quality version we have of that episode until now.
An HD remastered version of the episode surfaced online last December 12th, and was uploaded on NicoNico Douga and BiliBili before it was taken down on December 30th. Fans were able to save the episode before it was taken down. This leak made fans wonder on who was responsible in remastering it. There's no confirmation if Tsuburaya remastered the episode themselves or a group of fans that were able to find a copy of the original episode and remastered it themselves.
