After it was teased last month, Tsuburaya has officially revealed the next Ultraman series, Ultraman Omega! The series is also confirmed to premiere days before the Ultraman franchise's 60th anniversary.
The upcoming series will star Shori Kondo (HUNTER X HUNTER THE STAGE, Hyper Projection Play "Haikyuu!!") will play Ultraman Omega's human form, Sorato Okida. Taking place on an Earth where neither heroes nor kaiju exist, an alien suddenly falls from the sky. This Ultra's symbol is the red space boomerang he holds, the Omega Slugger, and his name means "ultimate".
This alien's name is Omega, and he has lost his memories. Taking a human form and adopting the name "Sorato", he becomes interested in lifeforms known as "Earthlings" that he encountered for the first time and attempts to understand them. When a giant lifeform appears, the amnesiac Sorato recalls the word, "kaiju". As the kaiju continues to appear before him, a sense of duty awakens in Sorato's subconscious. He transforms into "Ultraman Omega' and an intense, fast-paced fight unfolds.
The Earthlings in turn, are grappling with encountering these gigantic lifeforms and the alien that fights with a red slugger for the first time as they watched and try to understand what they are. Before long, Sorato and an ordinary young man, alien and Earthling, become friends. This series will ask a question through these friends' resonating hearts; "Why does Ultraman protect the Earth?" Now, is when they awaken.

Whenever he faces someone, whether in the form of Sorato or Omega, the first thing he does is look them in the eye with his palm outstretched towards them. This gesture is what is called the Omega Scope pose. His finisher is called the Reticulute Beam.

Written by Toshizo Nemoto (Ultraman Decker) and Junichiro Ashihiki (Ultra Galaxy Fight series), and directed by New Generation series veteran, Masayoshi Takesue (Ultraman R/B, Ultraman Decker), Ultraman Omega is set to premiere this July 5th on TV Tokyo and its affiliates in Japan, and will be streaming worldwide via the official Ultraman YouTube channel, and is subtitled in 14 different languages.
But that's not all, just like the last two Ultraman series, it will also have an English dub and aside from English, 9 other dubs will be produced and broadcast in their respective regions as well. These dubs are: Mandarin, Cantonese, Taiwanese, Korean, Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, Vietnamese, Malay, and Hindi.
