Deadline reported that Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman) will write the script for Sony's planned live-action Robotech film.
The report state that he will be working with the film's director Andy Muschietti (It) with the script, which they'll start from scratch. A top priority project for Sony, the upcoming film is produced by Barbara Muschietti, Andy's sister and creative partner alongside Mark Canton (300) and Gianni Nunnari (Shutter Island).
Based on Harmony Gold's adaptation of three anime series, Super Dimension Fortress Macross, The Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber Mospeada, the series takes place in an era when Earth has developed giant robots from alien technology and will use said tech to fight an impending alien invasion. It is still unknown on which of the three anime titles the upcoming film will be heavily based on.
