It was announced by talent agency Aoni Production and voice actor Toru Furuya that Furuya has stepped down from his roles in the One Piece and Detective Conan franchises.
Furuya played Sabo in One Piece, while he played Rei Furuya/Tooru Amuro/Bourbon in Detective Conan. Aoni Production was the one who asked Furuya to step down in said roles, in which Furuya obliged. Furuya himself again apologized for the great burden he caused for the people involved.
To those who are unaware, the reason on why Furuya had to step down was due to Furuya acknowledging and confirming the report by Weekly Bunshun regarding the affair he had with a female fan for four and half years, which ended last September. Furuya also admitted of striking said fan during said affair and admitted that he had cause her to have an abortion.
