The official Ultraman Galaxy website has revealed more details about the The Rise of Ultraman comic book series from Marvel Comics.
As previously reported, the series will be co-written by Kyle Higgins (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) and Mat Groom (Self/Made) with art by Francesco Manna (Avengers). The new series will revisit the first generation of Ultraman, also known as the Showa Era Ultraman or Classic Ultraman.
By revisit the first generation of Ultraman, it is revealed that the upcoming series is a retelling of the original Ultraman story, but set in a modern setting with Shin Hayata, still being Ultraman's host just like in the original Ultraman TV series. The Rise of Ultraman will be a 5-issue limited series and is set to be released this year.
