Netflix announced that the upcoming One Piece anime remake titled The One Piece will air its first season in said platform, worldwide in February 2027.
The first season is composed of seven episodes and will cover the first 50 chapters of the manga in about 300 minutes. In addition, a new poster for the series was released and it features a young Luffy with the Red Hair Pirates as seen in the manga's first chapter.
WIT Studio (Attack on Titan, SPY×FAMILY) will animate the series with Masashi Koizuka (Attack on Titan) serving as director and Hideaki Abe (Suicide Squad ISEKAI) serving as assistant director. Kyoji Asano (Attack on Titan) and Takatoshi Honda (The First Slam Dunk) will both serve as character designers and chief animation directors. Taku Kishimoto (Haikyu!!) will write the show's screenplay, Ken Imaizumi (Boruto: Naruto Next Generations) and Shuhei Fukuda (My Hero Academia) will both serve as action directors, and Tomonori Kuroda (A Certain Magical Index) will serve as art director.
