The official Tsuburaya YouTube channel posted a special promo featuring SSSS.Gridman and ULTRAMAN. The new ad promotes the upcoming ULTRAMAN anime, streaming exclusively on Netflix.
The anime takes place after the events of the original Ultraman TV series and ignores all the Ultraman shows and/or spin-offs that take place after it, namely Ultra Seven-present. The series follows Shinjiro Hayata, the son of the original Ultraman host, Shin Hayata who was inherited his father's "Ultraman Factor", which gives him superhuman abilities. With new alien threats rising, he dons an armor and becomes ULTRAMAN!
The project will be directed by Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) and Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed) with Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) and Sola Digital Arts (Appleseed Alpha) producing this 3D CG anime. Lastly, it will feature music from Metal Gear Solid's Nobuko Toda and Kazuma Jinnouchi.
All 13 episodes of ULTRAMAN will premiere exclusively on Netflix starting on April 1, 2019.
