Akira Amemiya (Inferno Cop, Ninja Slayer) will direct the anime. He previously directed the 2015 Gridman anime short. In addition, the series will be written by veteran Ultraman writer Keiichi Hasegawa (Ultraman Dyna, Ultraman Nexus, Kamen Rider W) and will feature a Gridman designed by Masayuki Gotou who designed the recent installments of the Ultraman franchise.
A collaboration between Tsuburaya Productions and Studio Trigger, the series is unrelated to the original 1993 tokusatsu series or its American adaptation, Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad and will feature an original story. SSSS.Gridman is set for a fall release in Japan, and will make its world premiere at the Anime Expo event this July 6th.
