TV Asahi has unveiled Koe Girl! (Voice Girl!), a new TV series that ties-in to the PreCure anime frachise.
The upcoming series celebrates the 15th anniversary of the said franchise, and is not connected to the world or story of the series. The series stars Haruka Fukuhara (Ressha Sentai ToQGer the Movie, Good Morning Call) as Kotomi Kikuchi, a grocer's only daughter who has no knowledge or experience in voice acting. Fukuhara previously played Himari Arisugawa/Cure Custard in the Kirakira ☆ Precure a la Mode anime. Other cast members include:
- Aoi Yoshikura (Schoolgirl Complex) as Ryoko Ochiai, a former child actress who got into voice acting
- Mariya Nagao (Majisuka Gakuen) as Ren Inaba, a PreCure otaku who aspires to become a voice actress
- Yurika Nakamura (Kakegurui) as Asami Kuriyama, a girl who has a lot if professional knowledge and skill and considers Kotomi as her rival
- Jun Amaki as Konatsu Morimoto, a girl from Kansai who is the group's moodmaker and a sore loser
The series follows five girls who all aim to become voice actresses, and who all live together in the same dormitory. The series begins when Kotomi is scouted to be a voice actress, and casually enters the world of voice acting. The story follows the girls as they take voice lessons and learn to become voice actresses. Lastly, the series will feature iconic scenes from the various PreCure anime and will say signature lines from the franchise.
The upcoming series is directed by Natsuki Seta, Toshiki Soma, and Kyohei Tamazawa with scripts written by Kouta Fukuhara and Shinya Hokimoto and will feature music by Shoji Ikenaga. Koe Girl! is set to premiere this April on TV-Asahi and ABC.
