Nintendo announced at E3 2016 that the Pokémon GO game for smartphones will be released during or before July this year.
In addition, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto showed off the Pokémon Go Plus device, a wearable accessory with Bluetooth link, which allows players to discover Pokémon without the need of constantly monitoring their phones. Nintendo hopes to have the said device ready by July. The said item cost $35.
Even if that's the case, the app will be ready before the release of the device. That being said, the device flashes green and vibrates to alert you when Pokémon are nearby, freeing you from needing to monitor your phone just to check if there's a nearby Pokémon.
Lastly, there are plans to bring all existing Pokémon thus far, but for now, only Pokémon from the Red and Blue (or Green) versions of the game will be available for the time being. For more information, you can check the full Nintendo stream found above.
