Netflix Japan's official YouTube channel posted the trailer for the upcoming live-action drama adaptation of Kei Sanbe's ERASED manga.
The drama stars Yuki Furukawa (Mischievous Kiss: Love in Tokyo) as the adult Satoru Fujinuma while Reo Uchikawa (A Drop of the Grapevine) playing his child self. Also starring in the series are: Rinka Kakihara (Close-Knit) as the young Kayo Hinazuki and Mio Yuki (Assassination Classroom) as Airi Katagiri. Also part of the show's cast are:
- Shigeyuki Totsugi (1 Liter of Tears) as Gaku Yashiro
- Tomoka Kurotani (Shinobi Heart Under Blade) as Sachiko Fujinuma
- Noriko Eguchi (Shangri-La) as Akemi Hinazuki
- Jin Shirasu (Happy Marriage!?) as Kenya Kobayashi (adult)
- Hidekazu Mishima (Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends) as Makoto Sawada
After his mother is killed, a man travels 18 years back in time and has a chance to stop a kidnapping that took the lives of three of his classmates.
In addition, unlike the previous two adaptations of the manga, namely the anime and the movie, the upcoming drama will adapt the manga's epilogue story, a first of any adaptation of the said series. Lastly, the upcoming series was film in Hokkaido's Tomakomai City, the real-life locale depicted in the original manga.
Directed by Ten Shimoyama (Shinobi Heart Under Blade, Kikaider Reboot) with scripts by Tomomi Okubo (Mutsu: Mieru Me), the series is set to premiere on December 15th in Japan and this winter for the rest of the world.
