The staff of the My Hero Academia TV series will return to work on the film. These staff members are: director Kenji Nagasaki, scriptwriter Yousuke Kuroda, character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi, and music composer Yuuki Hayashi. BONES will once again animate the film. As previously reported, series creator Kohei Horikoshi will serve as the film's overall supervisor and will design new characters for the film.
The last My Hero Academia anime film, Horikoshi explained that this film can be described as a kind of a finale for the series as the film will use concepts that he wanted to use in the manga's final battle. He proclaimed that the second film will be more "Plus Ultra" compared to the first one. Featuring the tagline, "You're next", My Hero Academia THE MOVIE Heroes: Rising is set for a December 20th release.
