It was revealed by lyricist Neko Oikawa (Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger) and singer Takayuki Miyauchi (Kamen Rider BLACK RX, Choudenshi Bioman) last May 13th that music composer Eiji Kawamura has passed away. He was 78 years old.
Born in December 6, 1946 on Hokkaido Japan, Kawamura began working as a music arranger at the age of 32, and in 1981, booked his first music composing job by composing the soundtrack for the TV drama, Genkotsu ni Kuchizuke. On the recommendation of fellow composer, Ryudo Uzaki, he got to compose the music for Kamen Rider BLACK, and later, Kamen Rider BLACK RX.
With the recommendation of then Toei producer Susumu Yoshikawa, he got involved in more Toei tokusatsu productions. Some of those titles are: Kamen Rider ZO, Kamen Rider J, Gosei Sentai Dairanger, Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, Juukou B-Fighter, and Lady Battle Cop. Some of his non-Toei work include BLACK JACK (1996) and The Guyver: Bio-Booster Armor Part 2 OVA series.
