The staff of the Megalo Box anime series announced at the Anime NYC event that the series will get a second season.

The second season, titled Megalo Box 2 is currently in development. Other details such as the release date and story are yet to be announced.
The series was release to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Ashita no Joe manga with an original story. The series follows Junk Dog/Joe who participates in fixed boxing matches in an undergroup ring in order to live. After an encounter with a man named Yuri, he decides to fight him again, this time by rising through the ranks of the Megalo Box rankings.
