TV Tokyo announced that Yae Utsumi's The Shadows of Who We Once Were manga will get a live-action series.
The original manga follows Nezu, who is looking forward to his elementary school reunion, since after all, his class was united by unbreakable bonds. But when his former classmate, Mikio reveals that this reunion is a very real matter of life and death, suddenly Nezu finds those bonds put to the test.
The series will star Atsuhiro Inukai (Kamen Rider Build) as Mikio Yumesaki, and HiHi Jets member Mizuki Inoue (Tomodachi Game) as Toru "Nezu" Sanada. The series will be written and directed by Hideo Jojo (Corpse Prison), and it also directed by Keisuke Shibata, and Masayuki Matoba, and will feature scripts written by Moral, Ai Suzuki, and Yuta Kurachi.
The Shadows of Who We Once Were is set to premiere this June 27th on TV Tokyo, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, TVQ Broadcasting Kyushu.
