Live-Action Saint Young Men the Movie Announced

It was announced that the live-action Saint Young Men series will get a film sequel titled Saint Young Men The Movie ~Holy Men vs. Demon Army~. In the upcoming film, Jesus and Buddha will transform into "Super Saint Holy Men" to fight demons!

Kenichi Matsuyama (live-action Death Note films) and Shota Sometani (Parasyte), who played Buddha and Jesus respectively in the three seasons of the live-action series will reprise said roles for the upcoming film. Joining the film's cast are two divided into two groups, and they are: 

Team Heavenly Realm and its members are:

• Ryo Katsuji (Crows Explode) as Taishakuten, the god of war and thunder
  
• Jiro Sato (Hero Yoshihiko) as a battle hermit, an original character for the film
  
• Mai Shiraishi (Stolen Identity 2) as Benzaiten, the goddess of music and art
  
• Kento Kaku (From Today It's My Turn!!) as Brahma, the personal conception of the universal principle
  
• Takanori Iwata (High&Low franchise) as Archangel Michael

The Mara family and its members are:

• Masataka Kubota (live-action Death Note series) as Mara, the incarnation of human desires who raised his daughters as a single father
  
• Seina Nakata (A Girl on the Shore) as Mara's youngest daughter
  
• Mizuki Yamamoto (Sadako vs. Kayako) as Mara's oldest daughter
  
• Hinako Sakurai (live-action Kingdom film series) as Mara's second oldest daughter

Yuichi Fukuda (Hero Yoshihiko, Gintama), who previously directed the live-action series returns to direct the film with original manga series creator Hikaru Nakamura writing the film's script based on an extended story titled "The Long Road to the Big Screen", which he created for the film. Saint Young Men The Movie ~Holy Men vs. Demon Army~ is set for a December 20th release in Japan.
