Warner Bros Japan's official Twitter account announced that the filming for the live-action Rurouni Kenshin finale films has wrapped up.
Principal photography for the finale films started last November 4, 2018 and lasted for seven months and was shot in 43 locations, which includes: Kyoto, Nara, Shiga, Mie, Hyogo, Kumamoto, Hiroshima, Tochigi, Saitama, Shizuoka, Osaka, and Nagano Prefectures. Filming ended last June 7th. Lastly, series creator Nobuhiro Watsuki drew a shikishi sketch with the message to the film's star Takeru Satoh with the message that says, "Thank you for playing Kenshin!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!"
These first finale film will cover the "Mystery of the Cross-Shaped Scar", while the second film will cover the "Most Terrifying Enemy - Enishi". Both directed by Keishi Otomo, the upcoming Rurouni Kenshin finale films are set for a summer 2020 release.
