The official Kaiju Club Fictional Tokusatsu Youth Chronicle website has revealed the cast of the upcoming series that focuses on kaiju nerds during the 70's.
The series stars Kanta Hongou (live-action Attack on Titan films) as Ryota, Ryusei Yokohama (Ressha Sentai ToQGer) as Katsuo, Masato Yano (Prison School) as Shingo, Ryo Kato (Detroit Metal City) as Yusuke, Shogo Yamaguchi (Madan Senki Ryukendo) as Nishi, Tokio Emoto (Prison School) as Jou, Muga Tsukaji (I am A Hero) as Cap, and Fumika Baba (Kamen Rider Drive) as Yuriko.
Taking place in the mid-1970's, this four-episode series is focused on a club with otaku members who have devoted their youths to the monsters that appeared as antagonists in tokusatsu shows. The club aims to self-publish a magazine that deals with said topic.
The series is directed by Takashi Sumida (SENGOKUCHOJYUGIGA) with Kensaku Sakai (SENGOKUCHOJYUGIGA, Game Center CX) in-charge of planning and co-writing the script with Kouta Fukihara (Final Fantasy XIV: Dad of Light). A co-production with Tsuburaya Productions, the series is set to premiere on June 4 at 12:50am on MBS.
