Even though they will shoot the film in Spain, TBS producer Takashi Hirano explained that the reason why they chose Diamond is Unbreakable from the eight JoJo's Bizarre Adventure storylines is because it features a Japanese protagonist in a Japanese setting. He also confirmed that they are also looking into hypothetical sequels hence the "Chapter I" in the film's title, and if the first Diamond is Unbreakable film is successful, they have plans to eventually adapt the rest of Part IV.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable Chapter I film is set for a summer 2017 release.
