Warner Bros. Japan posted a new teaser trailer for the upcoming live-action Cells at Work! film, which revealed two human characters.
Joining the film's cast are Mana Ashida (Pacific Rim, BL Metamorphosis) as Niko Urushizaki, a healthy high school student, who lives with her father, Shigeru, played by Sadao Abe (Team Medical Dragon, Parasyte). Unlike her daugther, he is exhausted from the brutal work environment, which leads to an irregular and unhealthy life.
They may look like a happy father and daughter, but on the inside, their bodily environments couldn't be more different. As their lively days go on, pathogens start to sneak up on their bodies... The most epic battle in the history of human cells, with the future of Niko and Shigeru at stake, is about to begin!
As previously reported, the film stars Mei Nagano (Daytime Shooting Star, My Broken Mariko) as Red Blood Cell and Takeru Satoh (Kamen Rider Den-O, Rurouni Kenshin) as White Blood Cell.
Directed by Hideki Takeuchi (live-action Nodame Cantabile, Thermae Romae), written by Yuichi Tokunaga (live-action Kaguya-sama: Love is War), and with action sequences directed by Takahito Ouchi (Rurouni Kenshin, Yu Yu Hakusho), Cells at Work! is set to premiere this December 13th in Japan.
