New details for the upcoming Kamen Rider Zi-O summer movie was finally revealed. Titled "Kamen Rider Zi-O the Movie: Over Quartzer", the film is advertised with "a sense of finality to it", which is similar to how the Kamen Rider Build and Kamen Rider Ex-Aid sumer movies were advertised.
The film will introduce the Quartzers, the managers of time, who appeared after Sougo has finished collecting all Ride Watches. A grand conspiracy behind the birth of the king is revealed. These Quartzers are Kamen Riders whose designs are inspired by Kamen Riders who are technically Heisei Kamen Riders, but are not considered as part of the main Heisei Kamen Rider line-up by Toei.
These Riders are: Balrckx (inspired by BLACK RX*), Zonjhis (inspired by Shin, ZO, and J**), and Zamonas (inspired by the Amazon Riders***). In addition, DA PUMP's ISSA will play Kamen Rider Balrckx. ISSA commented, "I liked Kamen Riders and wanted to someday become a modified human, so I really teared up."
More on the film, So Okuno, who plays Sougo Tokiwa/Kamen Rider Zi-O expressed his confidence about the film, saying, "Those who watch it will probably be like, did that just happen!?" Keisuke Watanabe who plays Woz/Kamen Rider Woz commented that the film will have a surprise ending and that it is an "ending different from the TV series."
Lastly, DA PUMP will also provide the film's theme song. Directed by veteran Kamen Rider director Ryuta Tasaki, the film is set for a July 26th release.
