So yeah, when I saw his Eyecons leave him because he was acting like a jerk to Alain because he wants his Eyecons so that he can wish that the Ganma will stop coming to our world, the first thing I said was, "he deserves it." The Heroic Eyecons were right in leaving him. I mean, if this is the guy who we will entrust ourselves, who, even though his intentions were noble but it feels like he is doing it for selfish reasons, Takeru is indeed not worthy to use their powers. So yeah, until Grateful Damashii's debut, Takeru barely fights in this episode.
Speaking of jobbing, man, Alain was beaten to a pulp in this episode. Not only he was badly beaten up by Javert, even with Makoto's help, Alain didn't stand a chance. I mean in a logical point of view, Ghost in his Toucon Boost Damashii defeated Javert and Necrom easily defeats Ghost Toucon Boost Damashii and Specter. Fast forward to this episode and applying the same logic plus the fact that Alain is at his lowest point, he should have at least injure Javert. But nope, Javert's new powers allow him to disintegrate stuff and in the scenes these two fight, Alain lost.
I mean, it was established earlier in the series that there are two ways for Takeru to be invisible. Method A is just him willing it and Method B is just to have low self-esteem. We are almost halfway done in the series and they already broke one of their rules. Hopefully this is the last time they'll do such a thing. Back to the plot, because he is seriously down and thinks that it is useless to fight back, Makoto of all people knocked some sense back in him. The fact that Makoto is the one doing it is really great. We just went full circle when it comes to heroes trying to motivate each other.
Because of his actions, Makoto's current body dies along with the destruction of his Eyecon. His "death" in this episode is really well done and the reactions of each character present in the scene added weight to it. It didn't help that we have no idea what happens to Makoto until the next episode preview. The only thing we know thus far judging from what we learned from the previous episodes is that the body he is using right now is not his real body and that he can transform himself into an Eyecon. Since we don't know if that destroyed Eyecon contains his soul, it adds this level of dread to Makoto's fate.
Kamen Rider Ghost Grateful Damashii's debut transformation is really well done. You see the sense that the heroes acknowledge Takeru as their host and provided him the power to become, well more powerful. The transformation sequence into Grateful Damashii looks really cool and as for the suit itself, I wish that they took a more subtle approach in the overall suit. The various colored logos in the suit are kinda distracting and ruined the cool gold and black color scheme in my opinion.
As for the Rider Kick, unlike the cool Rider Kick that incorporated all Parka Ghost lining up to perform the finisher, this one feels too standard. I get the intention, but it's not as flashy and it doesn't feel strong compared to that one. As expected, Javert was defeated, he runs away and all the Heroic Eyecons stayed with Takeru except for two, Sanzo and Grimm who decided to go with Alain. Well this is interesting. I guess that means we might see Alain try and earned the use of these two Eyecons in future episodes. As for Makoto, Takeru will try his best to find him.
